The Digital Now
The assignment was to create an art piece that makes a statement of how we perceive how technology affects our lives. I digitally recorded all the student's in the class and the professor's response to completing the sentence... "Technology is ...." I then imported the digital soundbites into Audacity audio program and enhance the reverb to replicate a large room (echo). I also created each of those statements playing in reverse. This is to illustrate the flow of data in our world is both forward and backward between sources and destinations. I added choice soundbites of Marilyn Monroe from movies where her statements could be related to Technology. When listened in that view, her statements can be quite profound.
The triptych represents the past (left panel) and the future (right panel) as linked by the centerpiece of the technology bridge.
This is done with two Arduino Nanos as powered up with a usb charger of which we connect our devices to draw power.
